Call to Artists for GODBODY: The Femme

The Sacred and the Seen

Tiguere Contemporary Arts presents GODBODY: The Femme, a group exhibition that celebrates the Black femme body as sacred, political, ancestral, and expansive. This exhibition explores how Black femme identity intersects with gender, race, spirituality, labor, intimacy, and resistance. It honors the ways the Black femme body carries memory, grief, pleasure, softness, divinity, and survival in a world that has often rendered it invisible, exploited, or misunderstood.
We invite work that transcends, drawing from lived experience, embodiment, ritual, care, vulnerability, power, and transformation.
This exhibition is open to Black women artists working in the southeast US.
This exhibition is scheduled to run May 20-July 11, 2026 at Public Works Art Center in Summerville, SC.
